Cheers to another successful Bridal Fashion Week! This season, designers took the runway, both in-person and virtual, to showcase their most current designs—ones that brides around the world will be wearing in the upcoming year. And while the runways highlighted the return of many styles we love, like the strapless ballgown and mini wedding dress, it also illuminated a few new and returning trends brides-to-be should know about now.

From gowns with voluminous ruffles to looks with sexy cutouts, there were an array of dresses that captured our attention. What's more, the designers didn't play it safe this season, opting for dresses with colorful hues, while also experimenting with different sleeve silhouettes. Bridal Suits & Separates

To no one's surprise, bridal suits and separates are back and better than ever! 2020 restructured the very essence of bridalwear, and while we're excited to see the return of weddings, we're even more thrilled that nontraditional looks continue to be popular. Designers like Katharine Polk, Rita Vinieris, and Kaviar Gauche fully embraced the trend, incorporating their signature style and design motifs into constructing this new, but timeless, bridal fashion moment.

Sexy Cutouts

A trend we continuously saw throughout Bridal Fashion Week was cutouts. Designers dared to be bold and used this design element to turn traditional gowns into modern masterpieces. Brands like Lihi Hod, PatBO, and Scorcese truly embodied this sexy silhouette with both tasteful and contemporary pieces.

Colorful Hues

Break the rules, your way! And that's exactly what designers personified this season, especially those who embraced colorful fabrics while constructing their pieces. Andrew Kwon, Francesca Avila, and Watters fully understood the assignment, creating looks that break tradition, embrace individuality, and push the boundaries within bridalwear.

Square Necklines

A dress's neckline is one of the most important components of an ensemble, though oftentimes, within bridal fashion, it's overlooked by brides. Thankfully, this season's collections brought attention back to this design detail. While sweetheart necklines had their moment to shine, square necklines also made a huge debut down the runways. Gowns from Dana Harel, Halfpenny London, and Theia all featured square necklines, paired with silhouettes perfect for a bride with modern tastes.

High-Low Hemlines

Midi and mini hemlines have been making their way down the runway these past few seasons, but what took center stage for Fall 2022 were high-low silhouettes. A trend that generally makes a return every few years, this asymmetrical design is one to follow if you're looking for a gown that stands out from the rest. Marchesa Notte, Anne Barge, and Kim Kassas Couture are only but a few bridal brands that created gowns with this style.

Voluminous Ruffles

Nothing says weddings quite like ruffles, and we couldn't be more excited to see this trend within the majority of the Fall 2022 collections. From full voluminous skirts to ruffled hemlines and tiered tulle, this cascading style is quintessential for those who want to feel like the belle of their ball. This season, you can find gowns with this aesthetic from Marchesa, Odylyne the Ceremony, and Amsale, to name a few.
